In the US, the two major “gangs” in public consciousness are the “Bloods” who wear red bandanas and the “Crips” who wear blue. (The reality is more complicated than that, of course. And I’m pretty sure they aren’t fighting any more.)

And shit like this is why I exclusively wear black or white bandanas.

From my understanding, those are the only two neutral colors, and even though serious gang activity hasn’t really been a thing in the US since the 90s, I’m still not taking any chances.

I hope you’re joking, this is incredibly silly.

Nobody would ever mistake you for a gangster. You’re incredibly unlikely to go into a neighborhood this was ever an issue, and that was around 25 years ago.

A lot of what you’ve heard is just lies. Like the “flash your headlights and someone and get shot in a gang initiation” foolishness.

There’s still blood and Crip activity one city over from where I am in Cali. But it’s contained to like a tiny area that’s basically three gettos all butting up against each other.

You would have to REALLY go out of your way to go there since there is fucking nothing but housing there.

It’s basically entirely contained to a handful of neighborhoods here or there that normal people have zero fucking reason to go to anyways unless they live there.

It basically doesn’t spill over at all anywhere anymore. So for all functional purposes it’s non-existent when compared to a few decades ago.
