You find out weed doesn’t do any of the shit they said it did… Now absolutely everything they claimed is called into question. Why would they lie about X but not about Y?
DARE did more to make people learn that police cannot be trusted apart from maybe their general violent tendencies.
I may be too european, but our one prez was about hard drugs! Half of it was about was a biology lesson about the nucleus accumbens and its deterioration! The other half was safety tips, apparently you can try every hard drug once with exemption to crystal meth without causing permanent damage! I didn’t know that until then, I would have probably never tried morphine once if not for that lesson…
According to Tim Weiner, the Central Intelligence Agency “has been accused of forming alliances of convenience with drug traffickers around the world in the name of anti-Communism” since its creation in 1947.
This was part of a more all-encompassing effort to leverage organized crime syndicates and other black market networks as methods of infiltrating, subverting, and ultimately dissolving Soviet Socialist Republics. Because the drug trade was such a lynchpin of the colonial-era plantation movement, you had a lot of anti-communist sympathizers already forced underground in the face of communist revolutions (which also, incidentally, tended to be anti-drug use).
Armies of Nationalist China fled into Thailand Myanmar, and Cambodia to run heroin operations and only significantly influenced the regimes in the region for decades and today.
I mean, I would have appreciated some information about weed influencing my body and brain development before I am ~25. Then I might have waited that time or smoked less. Now I can only imagine if I might have become less of a scatterbrain. Instead I was told that all drugs are bad and they will make me addicted and push me to drug-related crimes, which did not turn out believable enough.
Ah yes drugs are bad. Weed kills you, etc.

You’re absolutely right. And if you try them yourself, unfortunately most drugs are really good, at first.
That’s the problem with drugs, no?
I don’t remember where I read it, but I think it summs it up perfectly.
Weed not actually being dangerous… when you find that out it’s like leaving the Matrix
That’s not true though.
People really struggle understanding anything else than “it’s horribly deadly” and “it’s harmless”.
What’s wrong with edibles?

Might be less bad than other drugs but it’s not this magical thing that can never do anything wrong.
And that’s without counting things like driving under the influence of it.

Are you sure you’re not a scatterbrain from undiagnosed ADHD that you’ve been self-medicating with the weed?
