It’s a lemming, damn you.
It’s a lemming, damn you.
You’re running out of areas in the logo to put flags though.
Better just to relocate the 80k into Germany.
Ok, I misunderstood your complaint then.
Is this a generational difference in how people consume stuff? I’m all subscription driven with an occasional dip into local and all to see if there’s anything interesting that’s made it big (i.e. Top by day or week)
People are weird on the internet. I would never bathe in the firehouse of crap that is All - New, even with filters.
I find this interesting given @techconnections recent video.
You seem to be saying you’d rather take the firehouse of information to the face and then trim it down by removing what you don’t like, rather than subscribing to what you do like.
If so, I find that bonkers.
Except the “instance block” filter doesn’t actually block users or content from the instance
Why on earth would you expect a single user to have the power to block something at a local instance level (and so for other users of the local instance?
It’s called instance block because you are blocking all users of the remote instance for you and you alone.
If they brought out new features and charged for those I think most would understand. However since the V2 they basically done nothing in R&D. That’s 6-7 years ago.
I’d rather they found a business model that made them stable, rather than exploiting their current customers. Fact is, if they go bust then there’s à bunch of people left high and dry.
It just that with one dimension all you can measure is linear distance. Everything is a point on a line. Politics is a higher dimensional surface.
Basically it’s Flatland.
I have a lot of respect for this project. I lurk on the discussion forum and issues and I’ve always seen mature discussion even though the project was born out of issues which could have been quite emotive.
It’s also a lot nicer to run than any other git forge that I’ve had experience with.
Class inequality is not the same thing as anti capitalism. I like capitalism. I see it as a vehicle for those who contribute being rewarded.
We have classist structures outside of more things than business. Politics is the big one, but it’s nowhere near the only one. I’m for tearing down those who get power without needing to demonstrate the skill needed to wield it. Those that are given it either through nepotism or cronyism.
I truly believe that the system doesn’t care about race or gender or whatever. It cares about looking after it’s friends. If you’re not in the club you’re trodden underfoot. So pitting black against white and man against woman is a distraction. We all need to be fighting together against the “landed gentry”.
You’re so close.
Can’t fight capitalism without addressing inequalities and fighting for a just society for everyone.
So very close!
Everyone post-WW2: “Never again”
“Your printer pal that’s fun to be with!”
You’ll pay an arm and a leg for tractor feed paper though.
He doesn’t get to see good laptops. They don’t break.
Which highlights that making drug use illegal is far more about “You using drugs is unpleasant Tobe near, so I’m going to send you to jail” than anything else.
Making drug sales illegal unless through mandated sources make a lot of sense because of the harm it can bring.
The same thing that is happening now. EU mandated micro USB on all phones and Apple pleaded exceptionalism. Industry has moved on to USB C and EU is updating mandate. Apple is not being allowed to plead exceptionalism again.
I don’t think the issue is where it’s hosted. The issue is that the software allows it to dominate. Things like this should drive improvements in the front ends.
