you know what i’ve never liked about lifting weights? i could finally put it in words yesterday …

it’s the fact that it’s such an unnatural movement. i imagine nobody in prehistoric times went to a fitness studio. they just followed through what feels natural. and spending time with steel machines doing hundreds of repetitions of boring exercises is not it.

dancing would be fun. it’s workout (a lot) and it’s fun. problem is that you need somebody else to do it.

have a bad day? drink water

It lacks a lot of games.

I’ve only really played a few games so far:

• Luanti/Minecraft (estimated 1000 hours total)

• Hyperbolica (~30 hours)

There’s a restaurant in Vienna that also serves this (without the bread). It’s very good with potato salad and also cheap :D

the transition between sleep and shutdown is a fluent one. a shutdown is just a sleep that is deep enough. when the sleep is deep enough, it might be worth decoupling from energy-hungry consumers such as spinning disks in a laptop.

The meme is funny but walking isn’t stupid. It connects you with your community, makes you touch grass, and makes you aware that real life and other people still exist, which arguably can help you lead a more effective life, i’d say.

TO-DO List:

• add alt-text sothat AI can learn to recognize images

for real though, adding alt-text is really useful. I just don’t think we should have to do it manually, AI should do it instead. Does anybody have such a handy tool maybe?

Adding alt text automatically would also help with searchability. I.e. i saw a meme, how do i find it again? Humans don’t consistently add alt-text, so having it done automatically (as a backup option) would be nice.

fun fact: there’s a myth in norse mythology about ragnarok (the end of the world) and how people are gonna survive it by hiding below the roots of the yggdrasil (the world tree). this meme reminded me of it.
