How exactly did I attempt to paint Uber Eats (who is absolutely an exploitative middleperson) as a “noble service?”

Good thing the standard payout is $0.655/mi.
I’m happy that you are physically able, that you have places within walking distance to pick the food up from, or if not that you own a vehicle and are not vision impaired or afflicted with some other ailment that would make driving impossible. I hope you reflect on how fortunate you are.
Fuck you for telling people what to do with their time.
How’s it look from that high horse you’re on?
But back in the day it was cool.
I know skinheads were originally a workers movement. But here in the states skinheads were white supremacists by the time they got imported. I’m from Dallas, Texas where skinheads were always Nazis and a big problem.
Up with workers, fuck off to Nazis.
Well, skinheads aren’t welcome here either I’m hoping. But I had the same reaction as you.
If you have a Braum’s nearby you can get a bomb-ass burger with two quarter pound patties, crinkle cut fries, and drink or shake for about $9.
But you probably don’t have a Braum’s around unless you are in the US and in one of like two shithole states.
They are complaining about a ban (lame) from almost a year ago (super lame.) Don’t give them attention.
I’m just not stupid enough to believe the general public gives anywhere near enough of a shit about anyone else than themselves to make it work.
(Actually, I was stupid enough to believe that once. I went through a librarian phase in my 30s.)
Um… Libertarianism is authoritarianism just with corporations replacing the state.
The shoes require a subscription.
Y’all know you can post to more than one place, right?
It’s more like, “I had to walk a mile so everyone else should have to!”
That is how capitalism breeds innovation.
Nah, the person you replied to needs to touch grass. They’re taking the comments on a meme post way too seriously.
That’s not at all what I implied or meant but thank you for assuming I’m the worst person ever for pushing back against someone being proud they can just get off their ass and pick up food.
Yes, Uber Eats is a cancer but I’ve known people to count down to the cents so their account won’t be overdrawn so that they can order one hot meal delivered. Yes I absolutely think it is in the monetization plans of all the delivery apps to take advantage of people in that situation, I was just trying to point out “get off your ass and pick it up” isn’t a viable option for everyone. Also, not everyone is the best at math or managing their money.
