What kind of scaling issues does the fediverse have? Is it due to instances needing to communicate with all federated peers?

I mean thanks to bridgy you can communicate across blusky and mastodon.
It requires to use a separate app like this which is not very convenient.
They usually cut costs in unnoticeable for regular consumer way. Like include some chemistry that easy to produce and makes it tasty, but bad for health.
Why did half the world decide SMS needed to be replaced with a proprietary app
SMS is even worse in terms of openness. You won’t find a modem that runs open source baseband firmware. It’s because the radios are subject to several regulations which means customers can’t be able to modify that firmware.
HotA is awesome!
But the best way to play it is to use VCMI. It’s an open source re-implementation of the original game for the modern hardware. It also have a built-in launcher which asks you automatically download HotA or WoG after the first start. You can also install other mods from it. So convenient.

I think you can find some jerks in any community, it’s people. But I doubt that GNU/Linux enthusiasts hate people for using Windows in general. I personally a GNU/Linux user and I never hate people for using Windows.
It’s just like Reddit - they have more content, but we prefer Lemmy because of freedom. And we hate Reddit (and spez), not it’s users.
I don’t think they criticize people for using Windows. I bet that no one wanted to offend you.
People do criticize Windows itself and I think it’s okay.
It’s sad to hear. I believe that healthy discussion should always be welcomed even if you disagree. And hateful things should always be discouraged.
Maybe it’s the plan? First post memes with stock photos with no content, and then start posting actual memes about it?
Lemmy.ml is the first instance, but I don’t see any evidence that lemmygrad.ml had the same IP address. Where did you get this from?
In fact, the lemmy.ml admins/devs are admin on lemmygrad.ml
Why do you think so? Can you prove it?
So, either defederate yourselves from lemmy.ml (nobody would do that), or fork lemmy into a new clean place (not impossible, but difficult to perform)
How forking will help in any way?
I watched it and didn’t really like it. It’s too slow-paced for me and the characters weren’t relatable.
We have Matrix for WhatsApp. It’s quite mature.
That’s how I understand it, but why rich people may want to pay huge taxes?
Usually they try to avoid them as much as possible. I mean if capitalists run the country they could reduce them.
But in both cases capitalists run the government. Why with social democracy they still have good social programs while in capitalism they tend to reduce them? I doubt that with social democracy they have more generous capitalist, it’s should be something else.
Always wondered how it works. Anyone know what is the difference between social democracy and classic capitalism aside good social programs and taxes?
Interesting, thank you! I’m a little jealous of our Asian brothers. I wish we could have a similar country, but with more western culture.
Yes, you can self-host it, but the problem is the cost. The blog explains it very clearly.
