The technological singularity—or simply the singularity[1]—is a hypothetical future point in time at which technological growth becomes uncontrollable and irreversible, resulting in unforeseeable consequences for human civilization.[2][3] According to the most popular version of the singularity hypothesis, I. J. Good’s intelligence explosion model of 1965, an upgradable intelligent agent could eventually enter a positive feedback loop of self-improvement cycles, each successive; and more intelligent generation appearing more and more rapidly, causing a rapid increase (“explosion”) in intelligence which would ultimately result in a powerful superintelligence, qualitatively far surpassing all human intelligence.[4]

The dancing robots were definitely programmed like we do with industrial robots for decades.

The robot pouring drinks was controlled remotely. One of the robots even signaled to an investor that it was only a tiny bit of AI to the question. (I’m only judging the gesture, as the voice sounded almost like the questionnaire interpreting the hand signals but the Internet claims it was the operator responding)

Me too and I don’t have issues at all.

I use adblocker and a script blocker that blocks everything but the main Youtube page.

    Maybe the script blocker helps.

Edit: I case you don’t use a script blocker, they’re usually set to block every script, so basically every Web page is broken on the first visit.

It’s also dangerous to dismiss the idea that propagandists from Russia, China and Co. aren’t active on here. The way Al Jazeera, a Qatari state owned news outlet, is the most trusted source on here when it comes to Israel and Gaza news is kind of weak.

I don’t know how to feel about it, gives me some “spez editing the database to change comments” vibes.

I guess I would feel better to just get notified that my comment got removed.

Or is it just a displaying option based on the instance you logged in with and it gets filtered on the display side and a different instance user would still see the original?

I’ve been active for a month and in my opinion too many users have radicalised and extremist mindsets, but other than that it’s alright.

Going back to reddit would mean to install that unbearable app they have and having to deal with incompetent admins, so I will stay here for some time.

I can see why it’s off-putting for a lot of people though.
