Not quite identical, but there are some that are close
Sure, not knowing it’s the US constitution is reasonable if not from the US
However, I think one could take a reasonable guess that if the first word of a constitution wasn’t a pronoun, this post probably wasn’t about that specific constitution
I hear you, and I agree in general
but the side of me that hates brands doing this is currently losing to the “but like their social media manager is actually really funny tho” side
The US constitution. Thought it said US in the post itself, but I suppose it technically didn’t clarify
In any case, they more than 99% likely mean the US constitution given how US-centric social media is, and how the US constitution’s start of “we the people” is fairly well known in the US
Baby Big Whoop? Damn there’s a whole product line now?
And yet many can be up in arms about dogs & cats being eaten in some regions despite that claim
Serious in that they should stand up for non-human animals, but in the kind of way where you also know the answer as to why 99% aren’t
Is this implying you know for certain that human babies aren’t? Maybe we should be a little concerned how you figured that one out
There are no headers before this. The “we the people” is actually quite large too
Related note: There are some good vegan eggs out there to give a try!
If you want something that cooks and bakes like eggs there’s stuff you can by like Just Egg
For baking there’s a million things you can use that are pretty cheap. For instance, Aquafaba is the leftover water from cooking chickpeas or the water in the can if you buy it canned. Acts like egg whites and can be used as a binder for baking
If you’re looking for a scramble, things like tofu scrambles can be pretty good! Usually that’s with firm tofu rather than soft tofu, but you absolutely can use soft tofu as well. It can also be seasoned a million different ways. Here’s one example recipe (with firm tofu)
https://www.noracooks.com/tofu-scramble/
Soft tofu will have a different texture than firm so you can try recipes for both and see what you think. (EDIT: Note that you generally don’t want to substitute one for the other because of that texture difference so look for recipes that specifically call for using firm tofu or specifically call for soft/silken)
Soft/silken tofu can also be used as a binder too and replace dairy / eggs in various recipes. Like I’ve made a chocolate mousse with it before and it didn’t affect the taste. Had some friends and family try it and they both didn’t know there was tofu in it and also were surprised to learn it was vegan

There’s a also some vegan cooking & baking communities here on lemmy if you want other inspirations. Here’s one that’s pretty active !homecooks@vegantheoryclub.org and here’s another that’s a little less active but has recipes for it all !veganrecipes@sh.itjust.works

There are mirrors and such like xcancel.com where you can link without giving Musk revenue
Can we also add a no links to twitter.com
/ x.com
rule like other communities are starting to add? Not that many people are generally doing a lot of linking here, but still would be good to have sort of rule against it
People are pointing out is that at conception there is only one cell, the fertilized egg / zygote. So everyone would have only the “large reproductive cell” (the egg). It’s honestly so poorly written that you could also argue it’s saying everyone’s bigender too
But as an aside, it’s actually not even true that XY guarantees someone will be assigned male at birth.People with Swyer syndrome present AFAB or intersex while having XY chromosomes
The opposite is true for people with de la Chapelle syndrome where they have XX chromosomes and present AMAB / intersex.
Many people with either of those never know they have XY or XX . There’s also way more possibilities than just XX and XY. You can have XXY, XXYY, just X, and more
There is hardly no resistance, it just gets less press. Just in the courts alone:
Lawsuits against DOGE were filed exactly 1 minute into his admin
Federal workers and thier unions are suing his Schedule F plans
ACLU is suing his attempts to unconstitutionally remove birthright citizenship. (And more than 22 state attorny generals + DC + the city of sanfransico filed seperate lawsuit about it too plus other non profits and organizations)
Many of his executive order have been typo full and generally poorly written. Don’t assume they’ll all survive court challenge. Even if SCOTUS is insane, they don’t always back trump’s plans
There is also resistance from Governors to his plans
For instance, Governor Pritzker said he wouldn’t follow any of Trump’s unconstitutional orders against Birthright citizenship. They state previously did similar and passed protections in 2017 & 2021 & put limits on any local involvement with federal authorities to slow it all down
And so on
Good, I’m glad it’s resonating with people. It’s a good reminder to not let yourself become victim to the hopeless that they want you to have. We can fight and we will fight
We don’t have to win every battle to turn the tides
It matters more than you might think even if Republicans generally don’t care about the average person. For instance, in 2023 due to push-back there ended up being enough republican support (~100) to get the 2/3 needed to expel George Santos despite republicans having a super slim majority in the house
Or they already dropped Matt Gatez as their AG pick because of the push back from Republicans in the senate
It matters especially on the house side this time as well where they started with a three seat majorities and will be at 1 seat majority until special elections in April. Only a handful of republican defections is enough to kill a bill
Keep in mind that as we look at things now, many of Republicans policies are deeply unpopular even among many Republican voters. For instance, Project 2025 has only a 4% approval rating, 57% disapproval
There is a disconnect between what people think they are voting for and what they are actually voting for. It’s a launching off point to change things from. Many people really did think he would lower prices. If Trump goes through with plans on steep Tarrifs their support will hardly be so vocal for him
Look at Bush 2004 to - economy crashing - and then Obama 2008
Lets also look at other areas that we tend to think of as linear forms of progress that really weren’t - like the civil rights era. There were serious regressions during Jim Crow and things took a long time to get better, but the leaders who made progress didn’t give up and were able to get a lot through
The Plessy v Ferguson ruling was in the 1896. The NAACP started going after different underpinnings of it piece by piece in the 1930s. It took until the 1950s for them to start getting serious wins undermining the Plessy ruling - suggesting that it could fully be overturned which it was in 1954
