  • Poland’s GDP at the end of 2023 should nominally reach over 860 billion US dollars. This would mean that our economy will overtake Turkey’s and become one of the 20 largest economies in the world.

Such estimates, based on the latest data from the International Monetary Fund, were made on the website Bizblog Spider 39;s Web journalist Rafał Hirsch. As he notes, for several years our economy - in terms of the nominal level of GDP, converted into US dollars - has been around 21st in the world. This is also its position in the latest IMF ranking.

Except that the conversion from zlotys and Turkish lira to dollars takes place at the historical exchange rate. Meanwhile, the zloty is strengthening against the dollar (currently the exchange rate is approximately PLN 4.03, the lowest since July), and the lira is constantly losing its value. Currently, you have to pay almost 29 lira for a dollar, compared to below 20 about half a year ago and 26-27 during the holidays. If the countries’ GDP were converted at current exchange rates, our GDP would be higher than Turkey’s - which means entering the TOP20 of the world’s largest economies.

I am running DivestOS, a degoogled hardened version of Android.

You can remove as many apps as you like, BUT then, you have no access to your banks, to services etc. We are literally talking about modern slavery on Android if you are Google free… Without Google’s Safety net, most banks and subscribtion based applications are not working. You are enforced to have Google on your phone. Or have 2 devices. One for big brother, one for your personal use.

The 30-year-old victim was taken to hospital with two bleeding wounds to the abdomen, but her life is not in danger.

This Saturday afternoon, a woman of Jewish faith was stabbed at her home in Lyon, a police source told “Le Figaro”, confirming information from “Le Progrès”. An investigation has been opened.

The incident took place in the Montluc district, in Lyon’s 3rd arrondissement, at around 1pm. According to the victim, a man dressed in dark clothing and wearing a mask knocked on her door, then stabbed her twice in the abdomen before fleeing. She was taken to ER, but her life is not in danger.

At the same time, a Swastika Cross was found on the door, while a mezuzah was hanging at the entrance to her apartment. The Lyon public prosecutor’s office has opened an investigation, citing a “possible anti-Semitic motive”. The investigations have been entrusted to the Judicial Police, in conjunction with the Departmental Security Police.
