I used Notebook LM to create a ten minute podcast but it took a lot of repeated attempts with tweaks of the prompt to make sure there was no stupid mispronouncing. Even the final product required editing out two words which were not even human (just glitches).

Not understanding pronunciation of words is to be expected, especially when they are acronyms but sometimes it was really dumb grammar.

Still very impressive but not quite there yet.

In Croatian (and I suspect many other Slavic languages) art is umjetnost which is a variation of the word umjetno which means artificial.

Not quite true. They are server-side encrypted, not end-to-end. Still bad and I had no idea until I looked it up just now (thanks to you).

I use Gboard keyboard on my phone which undermines my Signal privacy. I could use my laptop instance of Signal to prevent leakage.

Telegram successfully fought against attempt of blocking in Russia in 2018 by providing regular updates and using different techniques to avoid blocking.

I too heard Russia claimed they could not block it. Could be deliberate theatre to bolster its reputation.

It seems Russia has a back door key into Telegram.

You could for example become a ham radio operator and IP can be used there but you could only talk to other hams and encryption is not allowed plus other rules.

Landlines were self-powered. They did not require mains. But if the blackout was because a tree pulled down the power lines then there was a good chance it pulled down telephone wires too.

In Australia both internet telephony and mobile are sometimes laggy and garbled. This never happened with landlines.
