I think the next ultras won’t use the fusion thing and will be just a larger die. (the m4 max does not seem to have the connector) so it might take them a bit to sort it out.

also I don’t think they offer e2e encryption for what the UK demanded.
afaik they provide e2ee for messages and mail but not photos or drive, which apple did encrypt e2e when ADP was enabled.
the current law does not allow them to no comply. they can go to court, but they would be required to comply in the meantime.
unfortunately the UK law says not complying is a criminal offense, not just an administrative un compliance. so apple employees would be liable to criminal charges.
this is very bad but it’s the draconian UK laws the problem here.
I’m conflicted on what would have been the best course of action.
if they would have fought this (in private) I assume people would assume they were complying. so the only option would have been to break UK law and fight it publicly. I am not sure that was feasible.
but this also just creates a precedent for other countries push apple to do the same
they did define themselves as leeches recently
saying the gulf of Mexico is an US location is like saying the Pacific Ocean is an US location.
it is worse when you notice than other places with two names do not use that schema.
Google maps shows “Rio Bravo” only when in spanish not Rio Bravo (Rio Grande).
It’s reasonable to assume Google has been served that same request. it just has not been confirmed to any outlet.
Most platforms did not had e2e back in 2013. now most offer it (thought sometimes it is optional)
I honestly think the issue is that these people want a SmartTV but are annoyed about its downsides. When I bought my current TV I disabled the smartOS but ended up enabling it back because I did find value on its features.
I think the complaints are not well articulated. They do want the smart TV they just want good ones that dont spy on them or show ads.
smart TVs mostly can be used as a dumb TV if you reject the terms of services when you set it up. I understand they are annoying, but people making such a big fuzz about them are clearly just fabricating drama.
IIRC they recently lost that google money in august since Google was found guilty of monopolistic practices. that is why they’ve been reducing budget everywhere (except AI….)
you know those abussive partners that yell to their victims “where are you going if you leave me? you’ll sleep in the streets. You’ll be worse without me ”.
that’s the dems.
she had a huge surge in popularity when her candidacy was announced. then she decided to move to the right assuming she would gain more votes from the mythical center than the votes she would loose from marginalized people and the left. She was wrong. so many people said this was happening. and she did nothing to fix it.
Betraying people and then blaming them for not voting for you because the other guy is worse is EXTORTION.
those screens tend to be overpriced for home use and their image quality is not the best since the signaging priorities are different.
I’m not sure about Canada, but in europe you just need to reject the terms of services of the TV OS and you can use it as a dumb tv.
I would go for an OLED. LG, Samsung and Sony all make good ones. I love my LG C3 and the newer C4 is also great. You could even find a C3 in a larger version so it fits your budget. the more expensive G4 is also there.
You can use it as a dumb tv if you reject the terms and services. (at least on the european versions)
Samsung is also good but lacks dolby vision and they seem to have a particular color profile that people seem to either like a lot or dislike.
ok. I was not aware the two letter TLD were more restricted than the others. thanks!
I don’t get why they killed it. some regional areas have their own TLD. .cat for Catalonia, for example.
Because Wine often needs to run .Net applications and Mono is the easiest way for them to do that.
how much it costs with 512Gb of video ram?
