The problem is not everyone agrees on what exactly “editorialized” and “credible” means. You’re making the same arguments they would make against you.
Protip: Run a socks5h proxy server on the pi that does not use its own DNS resolver. Then FoxyProxy on your browser with the default being off/direct. Then whenever you need it, switch that one tab to use the proxy to bypass your blocking.

But you said FreeBSD… opnsense is not the same as FreeBSD proper even though it is based on it… for example they don’t include all the drivers that FreeBSD has… like qlxgb. Not saying you’re moving the goalposts but I feel like this may be an unfair conclusion being drawn.
