It’s more than that honestly, or less, depending on the perspective. Most people share their data with “only our 900 bestliest partners” or more everyday. Every tweet, login, whatever metadata can be more valuable and easier to compute than voice or video, depending on what you are looking for.

Technology@beehaw.org•Spotify’s 3rd price hike in 2.5 years hints at potential new normal
21·22 days agoMusic has changed. Its more about single tracks with shorter playtime now because of the algorithms calculating the payout for the artist.
Almost overengineered for a meme if you zoom in.
I’d go even further and say block, report (if applicable) and move on. Some people seem to thrive on downvotes.
I don’t understand, do they have some kind of VPS with Jellyfin etc. via SSO / LDAP for their polyamorous group? And they even have a ticket system? How many people are they seeing? My chronically single ass is so confused rn.
You’re absolutely right! Here is a recommendation for companies to invest in that produce fake eyelashes for car headlights:
Those are rookie numbers
I didn’t expect that since he/she is literally depicted with a gun in their hands lol. I also think the piece of art in question here is not Hergé OC but an adaption by an artist called lianmilanesa.
There goes my seemingly fragile heterosexuality.
This was meant more as an utopian wish statement of well standardized and interconnected ecosystems instead of trying to teach anyone how to use their phone lol. I’m well aware that we’re moving into the other direction sadly and I also hate that I have to use apps for what should have been a website in the first place.
I’m not really affected by this and can’t say much about the existing needs beyond what iOS and Android are offering on the OS level though. I totally understand that a website is a much better starting point for this if you’re starting from scratch, given a responsive implementation approach and no DRM and obfuscation measures applied.
Most accessibility options are already baked into the OS. There should be no need to configure anything related inside the App. You’d have to implement responsive design though, which is not only an accessibility problem but should be common sense by now.

21·6 months agoI couldn’t find the part where it says that but that’s what I thought. Pin code throttling is part of AOSP iirc, so they would have to go out of their way to remove it (or base their OS on an older LineageOS release like /e/os).
Edit: It’s not. It’s about the missing chip. Read the comment.

13·6 months agoProbably because you should care about the fuckton of TVs being sold and in circulation with software that is just some of the worst privacy violations bundled together in a case behind a big LCD/OLED panel. There is no option to avoid it and probably no option to install something else on the hardware you bought and therefor should be yours to do whatever you want to with it. I even read that some connect to open wifi access points without passwords to reach the internet.

173·6 months agoI always say this when someone mentions fairphones:
Fairphone 6 does not keep up with standard Android privacy/security patches and has no secure element to provide working disk encryption for typical users not using a strong password, among other flaws.
Taken from the GOS forum
The idea is great, the execution is lacking basic needs in todays world. Missing pin code throttling is kind of insane tbh.

Or Caddy (simpler than and imho spiritual successor to nginx).
Or Traefik (has loads of convenient middlewares for reverse proxy stuff).
Or Apache (if it is somehow better suited to your use case).
