In the 1990s all internet data was transported by snails using these things called AOL CD-ROM packets.

With the TC-AOL-CD-ROM protocol, you had to keep on gluing a copy of the same CD to another snail every day and sending it off to the recipient, until you get one back confirming the reciept.

  • I hate remakes, I normally don’t watch them. Even sequels, especially 3rd or more.

But I believe people - generally - do want to watch remakes, (or formualic films based on cartoons), since that’s all I ever seem to hear about. People seem a lot more likely to talk about “captain bat-spider 5 the egg-sack years” or "starwars the phantom plot connexion " than anything that seems intertesting to me.

I used to live by a cinema that did cheap mondays a few years ago, I think maybe ‘Looper’ and ‘Sightseers’ I remember seeing there most recently. I’ve doubt I’ve seen a new film since then.I think they’re ‘original ish’?

I don’t even know where my nearest cinema is in this town, I think theres a small artsy one in town, but for proper cinemas i think you need a car drive out into the sticks fuck that.

All that aside, I liked lethal weapon 5 more than any other lethal weapon film. Does that count?

  • yes. And if i commit to modest contribution to the load, it’s nice for me to pay less - I dont want to pay for the extra modems for all the streamers who can’t afford DVDs. I’m saving my money for DVDs. I’d rather buy fast speed low quantity, rather than slow speed unlimited quantity.

The regulator should focus on is the market competetive - at what levels, are profit magins reasonable (insofar as they can measure them).

Not limiting choice unless it is obviously part of a price discrimination harming consumers overal (which means colluding to segment marget to drive up the profit margin. Even then the solution is not necessarily to homogenise the service, maybe just regulate prices, or regulate allowed total revenue as a fraction of regulated asset base/customer base.

I’d rarely agree with anything calling itself “economist group” but this part seems reasonable to me. differentiation is not always abuse of market power. So long as the tarrifs on offer are broadly cost reflective.

I can’t really comment on the comparative merits of doom vs scool wrork. I’d need a time machine to get some more experience with the latter.

My only datapioint is that I passed the exams, so doom must have some teaching ability.

I shoud also credit wing commander 3 (with pixellated luke skywalker in the fmv cutscenes) - that was also a big part of my gcse revision plan.
