Let’s use healthcare as an example. Liberalism generally believe in the power of the markets so are quite happy to privatise healthcare.

It’s pretty obvious to anyone paying attention that a healthcare system that requires private individuals to pay for coverage will result in the poorest and most unfortunate having no coverage.

The very idea of privatised healthcare being acceptable on any level is antithetical to leftist beliefs but compatible with liberal ideology, hence it is right wing.

  • Ask yourself if you’ve ever met a socially well adjusted human who is a long term moderator.

I’ve met plenty of decent people who have moderated for a time (at the very beginning of a community for example) or tried it and then walked away.

But never someone who does it for years on end.

I assume it’s because long term mods seek power they lack in their own lives because of poor social adjustment but happy to read a paper on this.

I would love a platform that has collective community moderation through content flagging and voting which does away the need for mods.

Do you really need to read volumes of theory to grasp what is fundamentally a rather straightforward concept?

Leftism shouldn’t be locked behind intellectual elitism.

TL;DR the capitalist state will use threats of violence/actual violence against threats to capitalism which includes those who stand for progressive ideals. Leftists believe this is a justification to use violence against the state.

Not sure I agree as it seems like black and white thinking.

I.e. I could imagine a scenario where someone is very obviously/admits to using neopronouns disingenuously and that would break my social contract with them to honour it.

If I make an assessment of neopronoun usage on a case by case basis I can still avoid witch hunts. It’s similar to how I determine in real life if someone is an asshole or not.

Another way; I can support a person who I genuinely believe uses neopronouns while denouncing and excluding someone who doesn’t.
