If people pushed the „no point in voting“ narrative in right wing forums it would be be better.
As I said people encouraging left leaning (in the American sense) potential voters to not vote is what right wing saboteurs would do.
I mean it is true. They did help elect Trump. Before the election there were a ton of .ml accounts doing their best to get progressives to be politically apathetic. They were indistinguishable from right wing saboteurs.
It was impossible for the Soviet Union to lose in Afghanistan. It was impossible for the USA to lose in Vietnam.
Yet both did. Russia could lose in the exact same sense as the above. Hell Russia could lose in the same way the USA lost in Afghanistan recently.
British should be eevee if anything. There are double the British accents compared to American ones. Cockney, London, Welsh, Scottish, Northern Ireland are extremely distinct let alone the hundreds of other distinct regional accents.

Using APs with excessive transmit power does not really extend range. The client radio can only respond with such a signal.
I use APs with proper MIMO and proper beam forming. Doing so allows for less time slicing between clients and allows for greater distance and speed per client. Take a look at the RUCKUS R560 or it’s more advanced siblings if you are interested. Even ubiquity equipment like the U6 has a proper MIMO implementation that Fritz does not.
If people are happy with Fritz that is ok. But it’s lower range, with lower capacity, and with fewer features than many people would like. We should not be limited to consumer level Fritz products on fiber.
If they allow their router to be configured as a modem maybe. Else wise you would be behind double NAT for ipv4 and double firewalled for ipv6. This would be worse than everything else.
We just don’t want to be limited to fritz. You might be ok with the limited options but many are not. We should not allow the fiber exception here.

As for port forwarding it was not an option with the fritzbox provided by vodaphone to me. Maybe because it was DS-Lite stack only.
Your range is much lower than it should be.
If multiple people use the Wi-Fi at the same time the speed is lower than it should be compared to taking your total speed and dividing by users.
You are missing access to some settings that you should have access to. On newer Fritzboxes you can’t even set port forwarding at all.
I mean the solution is already being done.
Just have an officially supported list of modems/routers. Realistically 10 would be enough. If a customer calls in asking for technical support you can just say “we only offer support for the devices on the list” anyone who wants more power can buy off list devices knowing they won’t have technical support.
That’s how American ISPs do it.
100% this. People are ok with them because it’s all they know. Once you use higher quality networking equipment it’s painful to go back.
Newer models have fewer and fewer ways to configure them.

The box they gave me had no configuration options outside of renaming the SSID and was only able to do dual stack light. Ridiculous.
I strongly agree that it was ultra low impact. But in the results where the same. It has the exact same impact as would a right winger saboteur saying the same. The same end goal would be helped. And this case the right wing benefits.
I think a better approach would be for those left wing (in the non American sense) spaces to push voter apathy in right wing spaces.
Then on top encouraging action and organization of the left.
