  • When Elon bought Twitter he changed the verification system which used to be for public personalities to be trusted into a paid tier. So suddenly you could have a blue check mark by your name just like Rhianna, AOC, or any of your other favorite celebs for $10/month. Tumblr responded by selling rainbow checkmarks to anyone for $2.50 and so a lot of people sarcastically bought and gifted them to other people to make fun of Twitter. Ultimately they’re meaningless

  • Some people argue XIV is the best FF. It’s a little unfair because it gets hundreds of hours to develop it’s story but man Endbringers is fucking incredible. XVI feels like knock off GoT. XIII is really good, except it feels like the tutorial takes a third of the game and you also have to read the codex to understand what’s going on and that’s like adding a book to your 50 hour game. XV is really cool but very different from the rest of the series, it’s probably the most approachable of the 4 (although it does have a huge expanded lore if you really want to get into it)

In short: XV yes, XIV yes if you’re willing to sign up for an MMO, XIII maybe, XVI not unless you like GoT type stuff

India/Pakistan seem to be on the brink of war, multiple European countries have elected self described fascists into power, China continues power grabbing the South China Sea, the Russia/Ukraine war, expanding climate disasters (everywhere) but largely in Africa and South America, and as mentioned the US craziness which drags everyone else into it. I think there’s a pretty good argument that things are falling apart globally, it’s just worse in some places than others

As someone who briefly lived in NYC if anyone for any reason at all tries to stop you for conversation, Do. Not. Engage. Headphones in, never make eye contact, and never stop moving. Anyone who doesn’t behave that way is a tourist, a cop, crazy, or a mark. None of which you want to be. So this is already self-selecting for people you don’t want to interact with

  • By and large most millennials were children of boomers. Even a boomer born in '46 would only be 19 and average at first birth hovered around 24 for their generation. Most kids born from 1980-1991 which covers 75% of the years millennials were born had boomer parents. Math isn’t on your side and you keep saying Gen Xers did it, but what proof do you have?
