I guess I dislike this post because Zionists usually phrase Israeli’s actions in terms of self-defense. So to people who are already anti-zionist, this post is interpretable; but to pro-zionists, it is at best nonsensical or at worst hateful. Either way – it’s polarizing.

Just seems like the way we should be not using social media.

I mean… weapons can be built for self-defense. Obviously, genocide is what’s happening here, not self-defense. But it’s not like there couldn’t be some alternate universe where ✡ on a tank is not inherently bad.

    Kind of an odd post.

    TOTP ≠ MFA.

The purpose of TOTP is to use 1-time codes instead of (or in addition to) passwords, and doesn’t require multiple devices.

The purpose of MFA is to ensure the user uses multiple devices to log in. In practice, MFA isn’t usually implemented correctly, as it only requires a phone and no other device to log in, so it’s not true MFA. MFA is sometimes implemented with RFC 6238 (TOTP), but for example getting a text message or email with a log-in code is not that.

Your password manager should use a secure password so that attackers can’t get into it. It’s more secure than a phone, which often use few-digit passwords or, god forbid, fingerprints or face scans to unlock.

To steelman him for a sec – just as it’s good to call out your own team when they do something wrong, it’s also a virtue in many people’s minds to acknowledge when the other side does something good. You can say the rules are different if the other side are fascists and we just have to punch them, but (a) I don’t think that it was clear to everybody in the first weeks of Trump’s presidency exactly how fascist things were going to be (this was when he’d gotten ceasefires don’t forget) and (b) I still wouldn’t consider it a cancellable offence either way, even if it’s misguided liberal behaviour.

Anyway, such behaviour tracks with being a liberal, and I’m not at the point yet where I’m wanting to cancel people for being liberals.
