The point of pain where your body shuts down is actually not that bad. I could watch myself die no problem. You don’t really experience death anyways. Your consciousness exists in user space but your body functions in kernel space. If kernel space dies, you don’t even get a memo. It is all kinda shocking and hard to take in when a super traumatic thing happens like breaking your neck back and a bunch of other stuff. It is like you are not part of it. The pain kinda just fades into a noise you barely hear your own thoughts over. I’ve been damn close to dead, and only barely recall little bits and pieces while missing most of three hours. I’ve watched people die from far far less severe injuries. They did not see their kernel space fail. So yeah I don’t think it matters. Smaller injuries hurt worse most of the time. The really big stuff passes a threshold where pain is kinda irrelevant.

Yeah, it sucks to survive… stuff. Know how you’re falling apart; a shell of your former self; due to the actions of some random halfwit. Then to face inevitable homelessness and war for continued survival from the same society that enabled the halfwit…

Nice to see some people care.

  • Are you sure they are gone? Maybe it changed, but I don't believe that is how instances work. The only things that should be missing are things that were never transported between instances.

This place works by using background transporter bots that carry the actual user content between instances. The frequency and number of bots is configured by admin of each instance. After the stuff is moved, it is basically a mirror present on every instance. If a server goes offline, or is defederated with another instance, the only thing that changes are that there are no bots going back and forth. All of the communities, posts, and comments from that old instance are still present on every other instance.

Now I’m not sure how .ee was handled in each instance when it comes to the old native .ee communities, or if the threadiverse has remedied this. As I (barely) understand it, community federation relies on the primary host in a radial hub configuration. So a user on db0 may see a .ee community called foobar and create a new post. A user on .world may see the same foobar@ee still, but no background transporter bots will carry those posts directly between db0 and .world because the .ee hub is missing.

I only know these basics from nearly 2 years ago when .beehaw defederated from .world. And that was mostly just from the heuristic logic of trying stuff out, because I could still post to beehaw communities from .world, but only ever saw interaction from the local instance. At the time, beehaw had a couple of large communities that were not present or active elsewhere. I thought the other instances would still federate, but that did not appear to be the case at all.

All that said, the global demographics along with life’s ebb and flow for everyone means there is nothing wrong with reposting, especially with any original content. Hope that helps digital neighborule.

  • Sup dude! We haven’t caught up in years… cause we’re here.

We only talked at school because that was infinite scrolling version 0.7, and before memes version 1.1 got merged. Plus, we both sucked at GeoCities HTML.

You still carrying a deck of MTG?.. Yeah, me neither. Got no reason to stay busy avoiding the extroverted kids in the lunch room, plus Sudoku is more portable…

You want to hang around some more and make each other feel old and unfulfilled? Yeah, me neither. Nice talking to ya. Do it again in 20?

Google: app developers use the zygote loading system to create an everpresent preloaded bedroom on your device with access to whatever they want in sensor hardware access and monitoring. It is essentially like a full equivalent computer user in parallel. This is how it just works while the (exploited-mark) human user is ignorant about operating systems, networking, and security. They have full equivalent access because you do not understand the details. Again these are full equivalent users. They are likely intimately preset with you more than any other partner… If they are there for stalkerware digital slavery, to sell your digital person for exploitation and manipulation, such a transaction is much like prostitution. The motivations of developers that are not whoring people out are mostly benevolent, altruistic, or taking a stand to support liberal democratic freedom. So in essence google is a digital slaver running a loose coalition of independent developer pimps that collectively enslave your digital person for manipulation and exploitation.

Apple: is a central fascist neo feudal lord that centralizes the exploitation and slavery under a single market forum where they directly manipulate and extort every developer and slave. Apple is the stalkerware data salver selling the exact same data to manipulate and extort users just like google.

The difference has been an open market free for all of privateer piracy raiding the coast of Africa to fuel the Southern plantations and flying the Jolly Roger of google, versus the matrix growing humans in a vast vat field with the Jolly Roger of Apple on the side of the buildings. To call one different than the other in terms of privacy is a joke as sour as US politics represents a balanced spectrum of interests. It is all stalkerware data slavery ownership of a part of an individual’s physical person for exploitation and manipulation. Open Source software is the last bastion fortress of real citizens in a democracy fighting off zombie pirates flying a Jolly Roger. This is a choice between Apple vanishing people and Google abducting them from the fortress.

ROMs are the red pill, a revolver, and a place to stay for fightimg for freedom from the 21st century digital slavery phase of neo fascism, and its coming total war 3.

  • Still clunky on my poor WiFi connection in my room. It seems local caching is a bit off. Like I never know if up votes were not pressed, or connection delays. I also prefer a browser based infinite scroller and will not DNS whitelist 3rd party servers that other websites might access like some JavaScript server or tor.
