You might have a good point, but you’re being self-righteous and smug. I’m ordering a turkey sandwich because your lack of humility irritates me and I want to piss you off.

Not a great day for social media. Twitter down, Reddit has not 3rd party apps, Lemmy is being hugged to death by people bailing Reddit and Twitter.
I guess I’ll go outside.
Having used both, Penpot still had a feature gap. For example, prototyping in Figma is much farther along. Penpot is still stuck in Invision land.
I don’t see anyone in here talking about HomeKit, which is also a good solution for secure IOT. Many HomeKit accessories can be set up to only communicate with your LAN and to not need 3rd party apps or accounts.
I also have my system connect to a router that supports HomeKit secure, which blocks any phoning home to 3rd parties.
Big problem with HomeKit is 1) Siri is meh 2) fewer IOT accessories
Now that Facebook has signed up about everyone in the planet that’s willing to sign up, they’re going to double down on growing by milking the folks they already have.
That means more short form crack content and less stuff of substance.
Give it time. Big communities will form, and unlike Reddit, there will be more competition between them. You won’t just have one group of mods squatting over “Apple” or “Android” because they registered it first.
Some, but it’s open source and a lot of people have day jobs. I’ve wanted to contribute to some things that are annoying me, but after work, exercise, taking the dog out, and making dinner, I have like 2 hours of my time…. so it’s hard to rally.
I do not recommend getting attached to Reddit Is Fun, although it is a great app.
I wonder how much of this caving in was, because a lot of lame mods were worried about losing their past time and or control over large communities.
There are a lot of little Lukashenkos out there that will immediately cave to a bully as long as they’re allowed to remain in control.
100% has this happen today. Wanted and answer, the only answer was on Reddit, and the Google link was busted.
Step 4. Delete your lifehacker page that mentions you once had a Reddit account.
Without a compact card view, I’m going nuts with having to scroll past the same 3 pages of expanded pinned posts on Mlem.
But apparently that is being worked on.
True, but I’ll bet money someone will file some frivolous lawsuits at some point.
100% this. I’ll bet you’ll find a bunch of failed requests in the inspector. Things are being hugged to death right now.
I’m willing to let them slide. Kbin and Lemmy are getting power slammed right now. Requests from clients aren’t going through properly and everything is being held together with duct tape and prayers.
If you find something weird, see if there is community / magazine that makes sense to report the bug to. I don’t think there is any ill intent happening right now. Shits just cracking under the extreme traffic load.

I’m having flashback to the early Reddit and Twitter days. Those platforms would get a ton of press os buzz on a random day, then they would explode.
The fail whale was iconic back in the day.
Back where?
