I use one as a Jellyfin server and to stream my main gaming PC to my home theater setup via Moonlight. Works great and since it’s all wired LAN the latency added is under 10ms end to end

It truly is bizarre to me how smartphone aesthetics have somehow outweighed practical usage and ergonomic comfort.

It’s kind of like the main “screen rectangle” smartphone evolutionary tree has largely gone down the road of the “Red Delicious” apple, which is bitter, mealy, mushy, has a leathery skin and is a terrible snack overall, but keeps being bred and bought in large numbers simply because it’s the iconic “pretty” red apple.

I don’t think they’d do much better besides being safer, eventually. Just saying that’s the only place where they’d make sense to go.

At the other extreme, if they completely uncensored it, the big controversial story would be that pedophiles are generating images of child porn or some other equally heinous shit.

Weird, I switched my daily driver in December 2022 over to Mint (likewise I’ve been using Linux for various things since '08, so not a noob) and it’s been pretty damn solid since then, including upgrades from Mint 20 to 21 and all of the Mint 21 point releases.
