Dunno about you, but my opinion has recently helped to successfully repel mass surveillance for my country and others. The fight is not over yet, but this battle was won.

I haven’t read the article yet, but I just wanted to say a couple of things.

First of all, I keep noticing people around me with bulky glasses that look like they came out of the DEVO peek a Boo video, and all I can think is that if I where Facebook I would use my power to influence fashion towards bulky glasses and make my glasses look sleek by comparison.

Second, it sucks that the wrist band thing is being tied with bullshit ai glasses. I would love to see that as a regular input device for PCs and smartphones.

Webp is “current-useless” on account of being unsupported by a lot of software, including Google’s own office suite. Just the same as jxl.

At the end of the day, any standard or protocol that is not widely supported is de-facto useless. Some examples are: ipv4 multicast, TCP multipath, MIR, hashcash; all of this are technically valid, but nothing supports them, so it doesn’t matter

No, the People might just be stupid. You see, many people are gullible and get convinced easily by rallies of some rich politicians. Sometimes, they might even believe that one day they will be as rich as them, and so they see something good for the rich as something good for them. But, unless the people are threatened to vote, or the polls are manipulated, it’s still democracy

“Democracy” has nothing to do with “free healthcare” or any of those things listed. Democracy only means that the citizens vote. They can vote for stupid/bad things but it’s still a democracy. Similarly, a dictatorship that does some good things is still a dictatorship

How is any of those a prerogative of democracy?

It works because of triangles. Just start drawing some diagrams and you’ll quickly figure out how on your own. Which is more fun than having someone give you a geometric proof.
