I have solar panels and a backup battery. I was actually disappointed when the power didn’t go out when it got cold here in Texas last week.

I have a lock that I can check the status of on my phone, and even lock it from my phone if I forgot. It’s really good for my peace of mind. No more getting up in the middle of the night to check the lock.
Oh, I see. My work only knows I’m done by when I move my tickets to complete on Jira, so I just leave them as in progress until my due date. I work from home, so I just watch TV or play video games while sitting near my work laptop to respond to emails or chat messages in the meantime.
Imagine trying to control how someone says a word.
Just don’t say you’re done with your work.
I already finished all my work for the sprint that ends on Tuesday. It’s Thursday at noon currently.
I feel like I would never get along with anyone who has an attitude of “I believe X. Change my mind.” I can’t imagine anyone starting a conversation that way is not an asshole.
All Google needs to do is make a public RCS API. Then we will have all the important features iMessage has on Android via regular texting. I have no fucking clue why they are making RCS exclusive to their messaging app.
I’ll agree with that for sure.
True. But I still think this would be a huge oversight, as it would completely go against the spirit of this regulation. It should be easy to keep this hole closed and a huge slam dunk if they can do it. If the EU whiffs on this, I definitely won’t consider it a win. All it will do is make Apple users upset that they can’t really use all the cables that they already own for non-apple devices. This will cause some families to purge every cable in their house and replace them with MFI cables, resulting in a ton of money for Apple, a ton of money spent by consumers, and a ton of e-waste. Is all that worth it when they could have just kept the loophole closed? An argument could be made, but I wouldn’t change my mind on it, especially when it would have been so easy for the EU to do it right in the first place.
But again this argument is kind of moot, because other users are confident that the alleged loophole doesn’t even exist.
The power numbers I mentioned above would just cause modern phones to die slightly slower. But that’s the minimum required for USB 2.0, and that was the rumored amount that Apple was going to allow without an MFI chip. But other users seem pretty confident that it won’t matter because Apple won’t be able to find a loophole there.
But but but if we pay people a livable wage, we will only make a 300% profit on our Teslas that we sell. And then I will have to wait until next week to add the gold plating to my second hot tub.
I’m not super knowledgeable in this area, but this seems like a great idea. I remember when hydrogen cars first came out, and the biggest issue was that there was almost nowhere to refuel. The nearest fueling station to where I lived was about an hour away. With planes, the airports will have fueling stations. IIRC, it’s significantly better for the environment than existing jet fuel. The range was pretty good for cars, so I assume it will be for planes as well.
Would it be safer than combustible jet fuel?
environments need to be duplicated between home and office
My work started “”“recommending”“” that we come in 3 days a week. Not required, just recommended. They expect us to just carry all of our stuff back and forth between work and home every day. We don’t have permanent desks. They are shared by design. We need to reserve them from a web page.
My team has been largely ignoring their “”“recommendation”“” but I know it’s only a matter of time before it’s a requirement.
This tech should be illegal outside of entertainment purposes imo. Things like Snapchat filters are fine, but using it to arrest people or advertise to people is straight up dystopian insanity.
I haven’t used Apple maps because I have an android phone. But I can tell you that Google maps is steaming hot garbage now. The UI is so bloated and unintuitive.
I have a friend named Geoff who says gif with a hard G. I like to pronounce his name with a hard G after that. Geff.
I say dʒɪf, but the way the person who invented it wants you to say it is a really dumb basis for how something is pronounced, imo.
How do you say gin or giraffe? Or literally the letter G?
Gen Xers: am I a joke to you?
