Why are people downvoting someone for admitting they made a mistake? It takes some courage to do that.

Tbh you can reframe all of them as just different flavors of greed
Sure, but the bacteria they’d be used to from back then would probably be fairly different from the bacteria we’re used to today.

That said, I’m pretty sure he’s just an idiot in general too. Maybe smarter than the average person, but certainly not three standard deviations smarter.
Interesting, was it always that way for you? I feel like for me with books printed on paper I’m actually a lot less picky but for e-readers (or any text on a screen really) the kerning, text size, etc. matters a lot more. The impact is definitely more pronounced for regular screens than e-ink though. Text size I find has the biggest impact on readability on screens for me in general.
Isn’t UPenn actually just Ivy League?
I mean “atheism” is still a dirty word in politics, thousands of years after the prejudice against that started. Apples to oranges, sure, but just goes to show how long it takes for public opinion to shift sometimes.
Is Mozilla even publicly traded?
If you need to finance the pizza you probably shouldn’t be having that party.
I mean whether or not many people use it it’s still shitty
I don’t think its a matter of stowing empathy as much as it is redirecting your energy. I still empathize with those people, but I try to focus energy on my immediate life and the people around me, and thinking about how I can help and improve their lives, support them best, etc. rather than doom scrolling and despairing. Because with the people directly around me I can have a much more tangible impact. I’d like to work up to having a more systemic impact too, but I’m still figuring out that part. But I think its helpful to have a solid base to work from first, you know?
