Well with short form videos your feed could be something more like a Twitter feed where you scroll through content from the accounts you follow instead of a grid of recommended videos where you click on one that sparks your interest. It is a different experience. Just like you could have a blog where every post is under 140 characters but why do that when you could just use Twitter. (disclaimer I do not claim to understand what has happened with X/Twitter now just assume I’m talking about old Twitter lol)

I think PS is a lot more intuitive than GIMP, as someone who also has used Linux and GIMP from a young age (though dual booting windows for most of my childhood, for pirated PS as one of the main reasons). I would love it if GIMP could get to PS’s level but tbh I don’t think they ever will just due to lacking the resources Adobe has. I don’t use PS anymore as I avoid proprietary software whenever at all possible (and I no longer have any windows machines and pirated PS is iffy on wine last time I tried) so I’m going to continue with GIMP, but yeah I still don’t think it holds a candle to the power and ease of use of PS unfortunately.

I do use their paid service, though I’m considering cancelling to switch to using a markdown editor with syncthing for notes. I wouldn’t have any complaints about the paid service specifically. I’d say it’s a fair enough deal if you can get it on a sale. My reasons for wanting to switch are because I don’t like using cloud services when unnecessary, and to a lesser extent I’d prefer a native app over an electron app

Notesnook. There’s quite a lot of private, secure, foss note taking apps, take your pick. Just check what features they have, eg some of them have no encryption at rest

Most of my friends use Signal. Honestly hadn’t heard of RCS till now. Either my phone only supports SMS or I’m too technologically incompetent to enable RCS.
