It’s naive to think they’re not trying as hard as they can. Companies are not allowed to stop going for more, if 99% of all users didn’t block ads, they’d go just as hard after the 1% that did.

I don’t think I see pro-TikTok memes, but rather “why stop at TikTok” memes
Not to defend tiktok (to this day I have not ever used it), but if the issue is the tracking and data collection, you could ban/regulate that specifically instead of singling out the app.
Sounds to me like they’re waiting for people to get used to this model for every purchase before they quietly add interest.

It’s absolutely defensive, I figure I won’t come off as a “troll” if I declare it when I talk about your politics.
I do agree that the meme has the tracks reversed, and I did forget about the full context, so sorry if you caught my original comment lol, but the whole situation absolutely connects with the actual trolley problem for me.
There is no clear moral choice in the trolley problem. It comes down to personal opinion and morals, whether or not you believe that moving the switch makes you responsible for killing the one man, and not engaging the switch at all makes you a bystander, since you didn’t move the trolley or tie the people up in the first place.
Or if you believe that it’s still morally correct to reduce the number of lost lives, if you have to kill someone in the process.
Oh, and I didn’t vote for anyone.
