  • It is easy to shift the blame at the EU for integration. But even they did not expect this resistance based on the early migrant waves in the 80s and 90s. Nowadays, refugees get 2 years paid program (per houshold member) to attend language and culture class integration. The only isssue is that there is no harsh deadline and after those 2 years they will still get paid till they are ready to enter the work force. The catch? Many migrants don’t go through and attendance being non-mandatory it ends up being a financial drain on the cities. The main issue is majority of migrants are from a different culture and often uneducated. And a cherry on top, Islam is inherently supermacist, and this adds a lot to the attitude of the migrants. In Sweden, they are offering now 25k for people to return to their countries.

  • Absolutely agree. Being an immigrant myself (came to study), I watched the EU society get rekt by its unchecker open border policy. Then countries like sweden who did not like the status of the new crime and welfare KPis started hiding them from yearly stats. It’s ugly. Furthermore, educated migrants who want to come to Europe have such a huge barrier of entry. I faced this myself when applying. Never understood why it’s so easy to hop on a boat and you’re welcome with wide arms, but if you study and work hard all of your life, and you want to contribute positively, here some hoops you have to jump through to get in the EU.

But maybe the worse part is, the reputation of migrants have drastically changed, which affected everyone. When I first moved to Lund pre-syrian war, it was a great city. Even the treatment then felt so different. Fastforward 10 years, and Malmö has shifted the public perception in Sweden being the poster child of migration.

I actually lived in those neighborhoods. Unlike 99% of the keyboard warriors here. Incompatible values. When you see a 3 yo girl wearing a hijab on a bus in sweden, it breaks my heart. Especially given the history behind the creating of the hijab rules. Most of you are ignorant and operate based on US politics in mind here, with absolute disregard of the situation in the EU. And btw, I am a EU migrant myself.

  • You’re making the assumption that Europe should and would want to receive more migrants? EU failed miserable at integration, and from my personal experience not a small portion of migrants did not want to integrate and contributed massively into the gang wars. Not to mention, if you really care about refugees, many studies have affirmed the best way is neighboring countries.

All the previous treaties existed in a time when unchecked migration into the EU was not a thing and economic migration was not peddled by smugglers and human traffikers.

The issue is the criteria that is used to label someone a fascist. In the last decade, the use of this term has become a trend to fit with your social circle, gain some virtues and feel good about yourself (ie I’m on the right side of history kimda of things). It’s just too loose as a term to make an impact. Like the venzueallan currency.

  • Some personal insights from the field. Most gangs in Sweden fight about turf control for mainly drugs, but also “protection” money for ethnic residents. Basically acting like the mafia foe their migrant community. You open an iraqi grocery shop and you’re not paying protection fee? Shame if your store burn down. That aside, the way they do assassination of targets (usually local distributer who owe too much money or stolen some products) is by hiring underage boys, slapping a 50k (sometime 25k) price tag, and handing them a target and a weapon. If/when they’re caught, they are not sent to prison, but a juvenile psychiatric care for a year, and then released back to the public. Most of the hitmen are usually 17 yo german nationals (from migrant background).
