  • You are correct, and I think most people on the left feel exactly the same. Which I think is why the people who seem to be shooting at the conservatives have been the same nuts that they have been stirring up to back them. However, I also understand why people feel such schadenfreude for the very people who are the ones out there motivating the nuts in the first place.
The real question is will Trump use this as the excuse they have been looking for to declare martial law?

Secondarily, anyone want to place bets on how long it will take for us to find out that the shooter was right wing nutter?

That’s really cool. The borrowing thing is the part of common core that they teach in elementary, and it is the part that enrages conservatives. The point of the homework and practice questions is to repeatedly do the borrowing thing until it becomes automatic and something that they do in their heads all of the time. So, it absolutely enrages the right when kids get the correct answer, but lose points for doing the problem the wrong way.
I was taught to do it the hard way and had to figure out the other tricks for myself much later in life, so now, even after decades of doing it your way, it’s more of a struggle than it should be and I just reach for my calculator instead. So I envy you quite a bit.

Keep up the good work with your subversive teaching of common core principles as tips, tricks, cheats and shortcuts. That’s actually how they should have branded it, instead of common core, it should have been cheating core, then they would have been all for it.

Are you just out here doing common core math on here like it’s just some smart trick to make math easier?! You dirty bastard, some conservative is going to see this and think it’s a good idea, then they’ll just innocently do it in front of their conservative friends and all hell will break loose. Homosexual fornication will suddenly run rampant through the group and those few that can resist the call of the devils numbers will have to cull the rest. You know… Actually… I am not completely against that now that I think about it…

  • Blocked me? But I thought we were all part of a brotherhood of love where none could or would ever want to do wrong to each other.

It’s always interesting how “anarchists” like yourself love to preach about how great anarchy is right up until someone points out a fallacy in their logic and then they immediately flip to fascism and try to do everything in their power to silence the other person.
It’s almost like anarchists and the entire concept of anarchy is a complete red herring used by fascist to try to free themselves from the pesky rules that stop them from openly forcing people to do what they want.

  • So, you know nothing about zoning laws nor HOAs, but you still have very strong opinions on them…
And at the same time you have these incredibly naive beliefs about your fellow humans. Like somehow these institutions and systems of rules you despise sprung into existence not because of, but in spite of, these fellow humans you hold in such high esteem.

Like I told the other guy, there are plenty of places you can go to live without much in the way of law or other rules, you go on and enjoy them to your heart’s content, just don’t come crying to the rest of us when you realize what a hellish existence it is to live without laws or rules.

  • You live in a society. You only “own” property because enough of your neighbors agree that you do. Society gets together and agrees on the rules, and by being part of that society you agree to the rules. If you want to live somewhere with minimal rules, then go ahead and do it. Just don’t come crying to the rest of us when your new neighbor decides to do something that makes your land uninhabitable and worthless.

  • The really shit part about HOAs is that most of the US NEEDS them. Most of the US has little to no zoning laws, and most of the suburbs are in unincorporated areas outside of the cities. This means that without an HOA, there’s nothing stopping someone from buying the house next door and turning it into a business, methadone clinic, a literal salvage yard, crawfish farm, or gator zoo.

  • As you get older, you will sometimes find that your gas has unexpectedly become a solid, or even worse, a fluid 😰.

That’s the “fun” thing about science, because different disciplines decided to reuse the words from other disciplines we get very technical words with multiple meanings.

Several of my friends and family got married within about 5 years of each other. It’s also well known that I rarely drink and have no issues with being the designated driver. We also had a pretty nice minivan at the time that could technically seat 8, but has been known to pack in 2-3 more of needed. So I was invited to every bachelor party. Right at first there were 3 all in the same 12 month period, and at some point I started seeing someone at my local grocery store that I recognized, but was not sure where from. It wasn’t until one of the following trips that I passed him face to face in an isle and gave him a nod and a wave that I realized where from. The moment the guy looked up at me and saw me wave, he grabbed his kid and pulled him away like I was about to attack, which perplexed the shit out of me until it clicked that he worked at the club as a manager and bouncer.
