  • Sam altman? You went for Sam altman as an “ai safety researcher that is really an hype man”? Is there a worst example? The CEO of the most well known ai company tries to undermine the actual ai safety research and be perceived as “safety aware” for good pr. Shocking…

Elsevier yudkowsky seems to claim that misalignment is a continuous problem in continuously learning ai models and that misalignment could turn into a huge issue without checks and balances and continuously improving on them. And he makes the case that developers have to be aware and counteract unintented harm that their ai can cause (you know the thing that you called ai ethics)

  • The source matters if you want to consider investing any time in it. Nigel Farage is a source that should make you completely dismiss it. He is a liar and fraud.

Nigel Farage himself hates immigrants and communism. His guest is a far-right policing, who blames communism and without checking, I bet he is against immigration. Your source is GBN. They gave Nigel Farage a prime time show.

So your sources of Europeans blaming Immigrants and communism, are literally political actors who are trying to make a career with it. In an article, in which they complain that their ability of spreading misinformation according to their political agenda, got reduced, by someone that they identify as the eu gold boy.

In other words, your evidence that Europeans are blaming communism, is specifically a bias “news” reporting of a group of people with a history of doing that, in which they complain about people specifically fighting against their propaganda and arguably winning.

  • There is always survival times. Sure, some are worse than others, but there are always survival times.

This is more about the personal journey. E.g. in a system that oppresses you, hiding might be easier and less taxing than fighting it, so if you learned to hide to survive, but your goal might be to become someone who has the strength to fight that system to change it. Someone that you like as you “finally” work towards getting to a place where you can thrive.

  • Yeah the child thing is embarrassingly the kind of thought process that a child would have. An adult can’t be flawed, is famously a thing a lot of children think of their parents at first. And it isn’t proper, which is why I said the conversation doesn’t have to be so black and white. Ironically this paragraph isn’t nice either.

I am not sure if “thinking less of them” should be read as “less than me”.

Anyway I don’t have an issue with you. I just thought the conversation is very hostile when your point seems to be about appreciating others and welcoming difference. It seems to be a waste of your energy and time.

    Take care!

Edit: if you are wondering why I focused my critic on you. They didn’t seem interested in a conversation anyway. I mean “sky daddy”?

  • I think this conversation is way more black and white than it needs to be.

You can love and respect someone while thinking that that one belief is really stupid. In fact shockingly stupid. (Not saying religion is shockingly stupid)

I am sure, your best friend once said something or did something that you judged them for negatively. Made you think less of them. While loving them as a whole.

  • I agree with you 100% and I want to highlight how weird that behavior is.

First you need to analyze an ad. Then you need to ignore that she has a brand and marketing 101 is that ad needs to fit the brand. Then you need to feel like you can make place for your partner to shine. Only then you can come to these poorly thought-out conclusions.

    What it really is:

She takes photos that fits her branding. It is a play on “behind every great man is a great woman…” Highlighting that the greatness of a woman can be her strength/power and the greatness of a man can be their love and care.

What they read, “man behind woman, man take care of children, weak”. How insecure is that?

It is a loving supportive message to men and women and they read it like that.

  • A LLM are hallucinating all the time. The idea that people use it to inform their opinion of e.g. Gaza, is crazy to me.

    They aren’t search engines.

And then people complain about propaganda as if the software wouldn’t lie provide literally random shit to you as a fundamental part of the design.
