I remember there was an Easter egg but I can’t recall if it was related to no disc and then loading an audio cd or something else. You’d have a small space ship flying around and towards and away from the screen almost like a screensaver.
It’s been almost 30 years though so I’m a little hazy on the details.

It was a webcomic that took itself too seriously and it was so panned that the mockery of it reverberates even today.
May not be for everybody but it was definitely something to experience at the time. Sometimes the internet has these weird flashes of communal focus (which can be both good and bad) but either way these allusions are all of us nudging each others side with our elbow and winking at the same inside joke when we see it.
It’s not funny on its own. It’s funny because it’s an inside joke we all share.
The community mockery and allusion to the original is what makes the entire phenomenon.
Kind of like this pop up book on Amazon is a “isthisloss” in 3d.

If Home Alone has taught me anything he’s an old man who has made some mistakes and just wishes he could see his daughter again. And he serves the community by shoveling snow… which tracks with your username.

That’s a good way to put it.
I’d personally amend it to this though:
Math is the language we use to write pseudo-code for the rules of the universe. It allows us to reasonably predict and share/write our understanding of the universe.
The best algorithms then match with the actual universe even if the real thing doesn’t use the math (looking at you -1, infinite points and black holes)
