Tbh, is it really pirating if I bought the game and wanted to play it on a different unofficial platform?
I understand the main thing was Yuzu was apparently offering builds that work with unreleased games (which how tf does that work) via Patreon, but if the game’s been released and I bought it, I don’t see why I shouldn’t be able to download a ROM or even dump my own and play it on an emulator that offers better performance.

iirc that more has to do with lazy coding of their physics system with the Gamebryo Creation engine. From what I understand, the “correct” way for physics to work is more or less locked at 60fps or less, which is why in Skyrim you can have stuff flip out if you run it above 60fps and can even get stuck on random ledges and edges.
There are use cases for tying things to framerate, like every fighting game for example is basically made to be run at 60fps specifically - no more and no less.
No, the PS5 can output higher FPS at 1080p.
What you might be thinking of is refresh rate, which yeah, even if the PS5 was doing 1080p/60fps, if you for some reason have a 1080p/30hz TV, you won’t be able to see anything above 30fps.

I mean, you can argue that Google actually has a monopoly on web browsers right now. iirc Firefox takes a ton of money from Google, so if the choices are “Google’s proprietary browser” or “a non-Chromium browser backed by Google” (EDIT: unless you’re on Apple hardware and use Safari), then Google comes out on top either way.
Wish we could get another good browser engine that isn’t Chromium, WebKit, or Quantum.

Able to afford a mortgage for a studio apartment in a HCOL area where real estate is kinda fucked and plateaus at worst for the past few decades and in the process of looking for a better-paying job in the IT sector. Still single since the pandemic but tbh I’m kind of okay with that still for now - probably will enter the dating scene again next year if anything.

The main issue with a lot of “printers” nowadays is that they’re usually not just printers anymore - it’s a printer/copier/scanner with faxing capabilities. The more complicated shit you cram into a single machine, the more likely something else completely unrelated will break.
I have a HP laser printer that is literally just a printer with the Wi-Fi turned off and it’s been working well on the odd occasion I needed to use it. Only reason I got it was because the Bother printer I wanted wasn’t on sale and this HP was going for under $100, so I went for it since I needed it at the moment and figured I could use it until it either dies or HP decides to not offer the toner anymore, whichever happens first.
