Lovely - mods are removing all comments that are pointing out that /u/CaliforniaKove has been spamming multiple instances with the same agenda for days now. I’m guessing pointing out spam and voicing disagreement is not allowed? Better yet, they’re citing community Rule 2, which has to do with reposts and in no way applies to the removed comments. Unless they mean to cite Rule 2 of lemmy.ml, which is also absurd imo considering the shit that regularly gets posted on the instance (of which I’m a member). Normally I don’t removed about getting comments removed, but not allowing people to express frustration with actual spammers, and removing their comments citing an anti-spam rule, is fucked up and smells of agenda pushing vs. actual moderation.

OP is trying to imply that women are paid less then men because they’re unwilling to put themselves on the line in tough situations - the woman is ducking in the back while the man is covering Trump out front.

It’s a sad attempt at being edgy

You’re missing my point. The individual experience, while important and not something we should ignore, does not invalidate the now-decades worth of data we have that shows your original posture (raising min wage leads to increased cost of living) is incorrect.

Make no mistake: costs for staple goods have increased in that time and inequality and share of GDP that belongs to labor have gone to hell, but it’s not because of minimum wages or in any way related to their increases. If you want to blame anyone blame runaway healthcare costs, consolidation and unenforced monopolization of business, the decoupling of labor efficiency and labor pay, globalization and automation increasing competition and depressing local wages…etc

  • Not reflected in any long-term wage increase or min-wage-introduction economic observations and studies conducted in the last 40 years. This is one of those “it feels ‘logical’” talking points that capital likes to tout but is in no way backed up by data or empirical evidence.

Medication by another means is still medication friend. And if therapy is not your jam but you’re open to medicating via doctor-prescribed anxiety medication, you can always set an appointment with a gp. I can tell you from personal experience that self-medicating with nicotine and perhaps other substances will only mask the anxiety. To truly deal with it you’ve got to take it head on. For me medication and therapy made a world of difference, but everyone’s path is different. Wishing you luck!
