Get a grip, pug. Just accept it and move on…
Blahaj has Blahaj rules - don’t like them, then don’t comment and/or visit.
Every instance has rules - you’ll never agree with all of them; but isn’t that the entire point of federation, i.e. decentralisation?
I “enjoy” browsing 9gag and in that prison of racism and misogyny the odd poster pops up now and again with a bit of fact checking to dispel or disrupt whatever narrative the bot farms are pushing that day. As to opposing social views though? Not really - I guess the mass of users torpedo such comments with down voting etc.
That’s exactly what I got…
To quote from Cambridge University’s (founded 1209 ce in England) English dictionary:
We use they and them to refer back to the indefinite pronouns someone, anyone, everyone when we do not know the number or gender.
Just a quick heads up but, linguistically speaking, you are mistaken with what you said about “they/them”.
Angry? Not sure where you get that from but it ain’t no thing…
To finish quoting the op: “Someone at the Board on Geographic Names bent over faster than a dippy bird.”
I see that as a real concern that a previously well respected institution just blindly accepted a change that runs contrary to accepted local, national and international norms - thus surrendering any impartiality and no longer reporting the facts as they are on the ground.
Presumably you read this part differently to me.
I’m not gonna lose any sleep over that…
Seriously? You think people are complaining about the means used as opposed to the action sanctioned… interesting. I’ve yet to hear anyone complain about the method - they all seem pissed about the change itself; not how it was achieved. Maybe you’re in different comms to the ones I’ve been browsing…
I thought so; but just wanted to check.
You use Google in DuckDuckGo’s browser?
“… to restore an Alaska Native name…”
That’s taking the name back to Koyukon. It’s not remotely equivalent to making a name up; like they’ve tried with the Gulf of Mexico. Poor equivalence to conflate the two.
Well, if it’s just as likely as any other meat I’ll begin eating blue pork and see how that works out - plus, if your beef has o157 I suggest you send your food safety agency to the butcher / (s)laughter house and see where they went wrong. Also, fast-food beef is likely to be minced - in which case you’d need to cook that fucker through and through to make it anywhere near safe. (Yeah, yeah. I hear you, steak tartare people)
Unlikely with beef.
Kendrick has been having a pop at Drake - for reasons. Drake has tried to sue over the lyrics. Kendrick claims that Drake’s favourite chord is “a minor”. Drake has, uh, a reputation for liking young girls.
TLDR; rapper for the ages calls pop rapper a paedo at half time show in a sport that most of the world don’t watch.
They used to put a little Santa hat on top of the cone.
Not really relevant nor important whether you know the names or not - “Person A” and “Person B” have wholesome interaction.
I’ve always wondered where the word “onanist” came (lol) from… I’m guessing from this fairy tale accurate historical account of genuine events.
I know, they are so easy to understand.
What pissed me off was when one of the original mods of the original community pretty much stated that they “owned” the community and can do what they want with it… I was uncomfortable being around that kind of mindset.
