And you decided the only reasonable response was to reassure us that the stereotype was true for one of those groups, according to your inevitably limited experience of individuals you have encountered.

That’s true enough. But I actually did read the article. Even if we had the best system imaginable, it would not be legally possible to obtain EU data for civil offences. And that law must work both ways, so I’m pretty sure I could get away with committing non-criminal driving offences in the EU because they can’t legally access our data to track me down.

No. Purely finance. The rest of the country exists solely to support the financial sector (by making it look like we’re a country and not a tax haven with a massive casino).
This is more or less what they ended up doing in the UK after rail privatisation, taking the infrastructure back into public hands.
But you can’t have anything like fair competition on train services. It’s not like anyone can just plonk a train on the tracks and outcompete the other trains. They’re awarded franchises, which typically have a monopoly over a particular type of service on those tracks. They can’t be outcompeted, the only way they lose their franchise is if the govt is forced to step in to pick up the pieces (which has happened several times in the UK).

That has nothing to do with the quote you’re responding to, about economic models that don’t reflect reality. The problem is economic models built without an adequate understanding of the current monetary system.
