  • lmao true, I think Little Ceasars is actually good for the value. The $5 hot and ready box was an almost unbeatable deal.

I really prefer Domino’s, but their prices are outrageous so I don’t go there anymore. If I’m going to pay a shitload of money for pizza, I get a whole New York Style pizza so I can really enjoy it. Might start making my own now though, tbh. How hard could it be?

  • I kind of like that TOR is a more primitive version of the web out of necessity (because having these fancy webpages with graphics and other shit to load would just take forever through an onion relay) but I kind of hate that it’s just damn hard to find working links to stuff and the association with the seedy underbelly and criminal enterprises of the internet. Also, I’ve been totally spoiled with my fast internet connection to the clearweb because I no longer have the patience to click on a link and wait for 20 minutes for it to finish loading.

I guess in the future there might be more of a reason for people to retreat from the clearweb, especially considering how shitty things are going in western politics right now.

  • This image is frighteningly accurate. The IT guy at my current job is top left. The IT guy at my last job was top right. My friend from my discord server who works in IT has said for years that everyone who works in IT is either a neckbeard, a femboy, or a furry. He’s a furry.

  • I like to ask anybody in a tirade against “wokeness” or “DEI” what their definitions of those words are and what they find objectionable about it.

If they can define it correctly (most can’t), they usually can’t put into words what they don’t like about it other than that the idea of other people being treated equitably and respectfully makes them feel threatened , vulnerable, or marginalized. Which is absurd, but expecting these people to think beyond themselves is asking too much.

Twitch already does this for their livestreams and has been doing it for years. I’m just surprised that YouTube has taken this long to get around to injecting advertisements into the video stream. Although I think if YouTube decided to try ad injection the adblocking community would fire back with something novel to thwart their efforts and the eternal arms race would continue.

  • When your local chain restaurant/fast food joint starts going off-menu to entice people to come in, you know a business is struggling. Seeing Churros on the menu in a Mexican establishment is perfectly normal. Seeing Churros on the Subway menu is a bit alarming.

I think it’s pretty clear the Subway execs (or the executives of their parent/holding company) foresee a recession and are doing as much profit-taking as possible while there’s still time before the big crash hits and everybody tightens up their budgets.
