They used to have a definitive tag system and got rid of it, just like annotations and video responses. sad. Of all things, tags were probably the best too. The new algorithmic garbage has sucked for years.

I did this one time just to try cooking the hardboiled egg on my own and it wound up opening my interests to cooking and recipes. Since then I regularly cook and do meal preps / bento boxes :')

honestly it’s replaced reddit for me in a good way, because it has just enough new content that I can check it before bed every day and scroll for a bit, but not enough to where I spend entire lunch breaks on it. sometimes I go days without even checking it. if anything it’s made my relationship with my browser / phone healthier than reddit.

funny as im seeing this while nuking my old reddit account. havent used it since they took apollo from me and honestly i won’t miss it. they are just digging their own grave at this point.

well i cant deny that, but i guess i mean in a sort of day-to-day way. like, if i ask one of my friends what their mastodon is, they would probably look at me sideways or ask if i mean the band. lol

honestly I hope it stays this active. fediverse feels more at home to someone whos been on the internet since before it was so centralised, something like this feels like a good mix. lots of different decentralized sites able to communicate with eachother, rather than just one site holding everyone hostage. mastodon never really took off too big but I hope lemmy can make it happen.
