Can you link me one time the government made a change google didn’t agree with, google continued operating as normal against the change, and challenged that change in court? That change being anything other than a new regulation that attempted to restrict some aspect of Google’s business?

The only thing I’m able to find is essentially anti-trust lawsuits related to google search being the default in iOS and Android. I’m basically looking for any legal challenge google “resisted” for some societal good.

(Edit: this isn’t like a challenge to your argument, I would just like to be better informed to see if google actually has partook in some sort of activism against the government other than fighting to continue their terrible business practices)

What are you talking about? I said that google should show what is fact, not their opinion. Pretending the US’s official name for the body of water is the gulf of Mexico is denying the truth of what is happening. Other people outside the US report that the gulf hasn’t been renamed for their location, this is a US problem.

And yet he does with no consequences because of the Republican administration (and frankly, the non-progressive Democrats). It’s not Google’s job to be a check on the government. If the US government department that manages natural landmark names has that set in their records, that’s what should be reported.

Alaska, a red state, is reportedly trying to remove their rank choice voting. This isn’t a “Dems” problem, it’s a two party problem.

Even if state and local elections are ranked choice, the presidential election will still be a first past the post election and the electoral college is still designed for a two party system.

Well, for almost a decade the GOP has had time to come up with their vision. They ran on “Repeal and Replace” in the 2016 cycle. But when it came time to vote to repeal, they still didn’t have a replace option.

Prices didn’t go down when the 2018 tax cuts reduced corporate tax by about 30%, I doubt when the ACA gets repealed and insurance companies can drop the uninsurable people they will lower the prices for healthy Americans, because they are already anchored at the higher price.

Technically that’s true, because it changed the law where you can’t be denied coverage because of pre-existing conditions, but I’m guessing OP means he uses the marketplace thingy instead of having insurance provided by work.

(Also, the affordable care act didn’t force you to have insurance, it was a tax penalty to not have insurance, but the 2018 tax act set that penalty to $0)

That’s not a perfect use case for it. That’s a central authority (venue) selling tickets to anyone who wants to buy them. But instead of using a local database and approving transfers from person to person and losing the ability to reverse transactions due to fraud, it’s hosted in the wild west of crypto.

There’s nothing stopping a venue from offering your perfect use case in a centralized system, but they outsource it to Ticketmaster (namely because Ticketmaster owns like 80% of music venues or something) so they don’t have to deal with it.

Your scenario outsources it to the block chain, who will charge gas for the transactions instead of ticketmaster charging fees.

There are trade offs for wanting to live near a city or somewhere popular or close to family. Yeah rental rates suck and home prices are climbing, and soon the cheap homes in the Midwest will start to keep up with the other states.
