I have this. It’s called (mental) disability pay. It’s not as glamorous as it sounds. But my dog loves my free time.

Modern boots actually really suck for the most part compared to old boots that were made to be repaired and last.

And everything was being bombarded with comets, asteroids, gamma ray bursts, and all the other horrors of our current universe but right next door. Too much chaos for any sustainability.

But the satisfaction of crawling back into bed knowing you won’t have to get up for hours.

I’ve come to find comfort in the idea of being in a simulation. At least then someone’s watching, and maybe cares.

I am just finishing up with having covid. This time it was a war in my nose. I noticed I can smell my dog again today.

That’s a cable standard. Imagine being stuck with usb 1.

PC parts can’t even go few years without losing backwards compatibility (e.g. cpu sockets changing every few years). Last thing I need is for my physical body to incompatible with the newest and best stuff because I got a permanent implant when the tech wasn’t as evolved. This will always be the problem with invasive technology in my opinion.

It wouldn’t be weird to land bugs if they had that tasty meat crustaceans do. I’m big for alternative sources of protein like bugs, but the fact is they taste like shit.

I’m genuinely curious how low-spec a server for this could be. If you only allow links to off-site media (only host text), I wonder if that would help with fitting a lot of people on a cheap low-spec server. Hypothetically specific apps instead of using a website could also move a lot of server work onto client devices. Lastly if there could be a way to securely dedicate part of your pc to server hosting the way mining crypto works, the server could provide extra perks that require extra server power (such as animated avatars, higher resolution posts, etc.).

All I’m saying is there are a good few options before we need corporate sponsors.

Unfortunately Reddit is almost too big at this point to fail. The fact that official communities exist over there is enough to keep them afloat. But Reddit as we all knew it is dead. I was always worried about Reddit going public effecting it’s quality, and the staff have only confirmed my fears. Luckily Reddit offers nothing anyone else can do, and jumping ship to a competitor had never been easier.
