In the end of the day the only thing that matters is how a bunch of old guys feel about the way that thing makes them look

BilSabab@lemmy.worldto Memes@lemmy.ml•burning petro dollars vs renewable commoditiesEnglish10·7 days agoAn easy solution to make renewable energy more acceptable by political and economic elites is to physically demolished the other energy infrastructure so that they will be left with no choice but to pivot towards renewables instead of big clumsy easy to hit power stations. Works like a charm but there’s a catch.
A colleague of mine had a habit of dousing espressos upon having anxiety episodes. Naturally, she ended up having a cardiac episode (not an attack but something similar) a couple of years later and now she doesn’t like any form of coffee
exactly - and then they deny they did that and follow it up by posting the videos of the deed from couple of angles without batting an eye
my description made it look better than it actually was - that whole scene was incredibly toxic and hypocrite. It wasn’t a serious discussion on how to self-organize and create a sustainable community or just spread knowledge - it was mostly about “ain’t Nestor Makhno was a cool guy, huh? I think Bakunin was gangsta bro” - that kind of depth - shit like this is kindergarten. that is why i called it funny. It was posturing.
none of the folks who studied political theory and economy ever showed up in that place. It barely had anything to do with actual anarchism as much as it had everything to do with bunch of people just supporting each other in being childish and naive in their perception of the world. Nothing wrong with that in itself but it is very counterproductive in actually understanding anarchism as practical theory you can use in your life.
back in the day our university had anarchist intellectual club. it consisted solely of tenured left-leaning professors who talked shit about their place of work while staying at work after hours to massage their egos and also first-year edgelords saying inspirational quotes from social media. it was funny as fuck to sit at their meet-ups and listen to their empty posturing. if you wanted to decompress and take it easy - that was the place.
it is even worse when someone is actively destroying clean water sources. Back when russians blew up the Kakhovka dam - there was a huge crisis because it wrecked the entire ecosystem and disrupted water supply for a couple of months. Before everything got worked out and the new infrastructure was installed - everything was running on makeshift water storages and filtering systems and the likes. So what russians decided to do? Send some drones to blow it up for shits and giggles.

That’s literally one of my colleagues from back in the day. He was business development manager - all Gary V hustle shit and then some - like literally. Stayed late, kept doing rah rah speeches that everybody should commit their all for the cause, always agonized over every sentence in replies as if its a matter of life and death. When I was passed over for promotion I was told I’m not going hard unlike that guy. Well, that guy died of a heart attack two years later a little over 31yo - closed the deal and went to the gym to pump some iron while pumped on strong coffee - just dropped dead after doing a set. What’s scary is that dude was three years younger than me - just how wrecked your body should be for that happen?
there’s a stripped down version of this song that Rick played on BBC and it fucking rips. Underneath all the corny production and culture baggage - it’s a really good song.
now that’s girl power!
what’s unnerving is that there lots of POW reports that indicate that women showcase far more cruelty towards female POWs compared to men.

But what about Helloween? Heavy Metal Hamsters enter chat!
why go that far - how about the environmental impact of shelling the area with all sorts of munitions? Pretty much the entirety of russian-occupied territory since 2022 is rendered into a literal dead moonscape and even decades later (if this shit ever ends) a good chunk of that land will remain a red zone filled with all sorts of bad things.
