Brilliant comment, I’m dead serious.

They can fly? I know they have wings, but I’ve never seen one fly, I assumed they were evolutionarily vestigial.
Same thing happened to me, I even made my own screenshot so your post was meta IRL
I was shot at once, and in the moment, you’re not sure that you haven’t been shot. Sometimes you can be in shock and not know because of adrenaline, it’s a real thing. It’s hard to explain how things happen in the moment.
I was once on a second story and watched the trees jump into the air, only understanding after a few seconds that what happened was the floor collapsed and I fell to the ground. Life doesn’t afford the ability to process things well when they happen quickly.
I think some of y’all have never had a nut or anything drop on top of your car before, but it absolutely can sound alarming enough to, in the context of a high stress situation, be interpreted by your brain as a potential shot in the same way a busted engine can.
To be clear, I think this is far more likely than most people are willing to understand, and this gets lost in the ‘all cops bad’ narrative.
I make the exact argument all the time and it gets ignored. I think people fundamentally don’t understand the tech and can’t conceptualize that AI models train the same way we get ideas and schemas from our own observations.
Undoubtedly going to be Elon Musk vs Jeff Bezos
I’m actually, honestly enjoying this more. Yes, pretty much every niche community I joined has died now, and that’s unfortunate, but it’s quite certainly alive anyway.
Reminds me a bit of earlier Digg, and the culture here varies a lot but I see a wide range of political opinion and cultural frames of reference compared to what Reddit was, which was a near monoculture.
I prefer this not being guided by a single company.
Literally yes

It seems really obvious that it was either extra judicial “justice” that the guards and other parties conspired on, or he was put into a witness protection program for giving up contacts and this fact is so critical to take down trafficking rings that everyone must play along with him being dead.
I can’t imagine other rational outcomes, he was high profile, and I absolutely expect Americans to think the vigilante justice is justifiable here, and lots of people would openly support that too. If he had compelling enough information on high profile individuals though, I can absolutely believe a deal was cut for his life, and his death faked.
Entirely overengineered. Redundant with better solutions. This is being pushed for hidden reasons.
That’s literally not what colonization means. I also promise that most human history is bloody even if you don’t know about it. Humans spread out from Africa across the world. My slightly related to me ancestors conquered subjugated and killed their slightly related ancestors. We’re all one race.
I mean, you’re always probably going to a little bit, no big deal, but they’re so close together that it just happens
I actually adore the idea of a subre…err, community where you take AI art and caption it like you’re the camera person. It would be a little bit like accidental renaissance
DS9 at least gets good towards the end of season one, and hits it’s stride in season 3. It never stops being good from there.
TNG I swear is mediocre until like season 5.
I had the same thought, just so I could be a community of one and host just enough to create an account and port it over via federation
Honestly the concept of property here is just silly. Who specifically do they belong to, why, what claim, and how could such a claim exist?
I just don’t agree with the concept, this individual doesn’t have any right to ownership regardless of whether his specific family owned it at some point prior, but most likely a direct relative doesn’t even own it, just someone with his self same ‘race’ ( which race doesn’t really exist either tbh, not genetically anyway, but exists as a social construct ).
I just despise this mentality. I don’t own anything collectively with anyone of my ‘race’, neither their achievements nor shames, and same for even direct relatives.
There is not enough generic diversity in humans to even prop up the idea of race beyond being a cultural construct, it’s time to stop seeing our fellow humans as something other.
