A lot of people who laugh at they being used as a pronoun don’t seem to realize how often the word is already used to refer to a singular person in everyday conversation. But as soon someone asks to be call they, suddenly you think it’s unacceptable to use its singular meaning?
When its used, its used to refer to someone who you dont kniw if they are male or female. Not to fake a new concept. It can be used for singular its just being used wrong :)
