This is the real answer. Without abortion and maybe guns, Dems would become basically indistinguishable from your standard GOP schlub.

Solving those problems means they’d actually have to start convincing people why they shouldn’t get voted out for the progressive whos pushing for healthcare reform and getting corporate money out of politics. They don’t want to have to fight that fight, they like the Citizens United money hose same as the republicans.
