If they’d packaged the game as a standalone it would’ve been fine. I’d played both 1-2 on a console. When I wanted to play 3 on a PC I was faced with installing WOA signing into their servers, and buying per-pack/location/etc vs just paying the $60-$70 one time and being done with it.

It sucks because they’re really good games. There aren’t a lot of pure stealth games like that and it’s easily one of the best but they completely messed it all up with the weird packaging/launcher/server stuff.

You absolutely nailed it, fantastic games but absolute dogshit launcher/wrapper/online service.

If they’d just released 3 games packaged normally and didn’t try to nickle and dime people everyone would be raving about how great the games are.

I love the franchise but they really fucked it all up.

I use plain creamer and it sweetens it up a bit but the bigger thing to me is it thickens it up ever so slightly giving it a much better mouth feel.

UberEats is a cancer and honestly, everyone I’ve known who’s disabled or on a fixed income in some way couldn’t afford the insane markup.

Only on lemmy would someone try to paint an exploitative middleman like UberEats as a noble service for those unable to journey to the store.

There are actually services that do that and they don’t charge a 30% markup. That actually seems even more exploitative and you’d think the other commenter would be enraged at Uber.

Things are fucked from the top down. It’s by design, It’s a long listen but worth checking out How Conservatism Won by Robert Evans. He lays out in a clear concise way “how a consortium of rich failsons got together to fund a network of right wing think tanks and shift American culture in a fun new direction. (note: it was not actually fun at all).” They’ve been very successful and those think tanks are now pipelines used to funnel ideological purists into powerful positions like our current Supreme Court.

It’s not even a conspiracy, it’s all easily verifiable. These people do not share our American values. They do not value freedoms (speech, press, religion, etc) the same way that many of us do. They want a return to the gilded age with them as the robber barons and landed gentry and everyone else as a permanent, toiling underclass.

His love of “crooner” hits and his search for a good cappuccino throughout the movie are absolutely Bruce Willis traits and it’s one of the things I liked, it’s a real character trait but still kind of quirky and random, it’s just such fun movie.

Hudson Hawk is the most 1991 movie to ever exist, it’s so bad and I’ve seen it so many times. I think it was my favorite movie for a year or two.

Ultimately we have more in common with a normal Chinese person just trying to live their lives than any of us do with our ruling classes. I’m sure those same ruling classes would rather us be less aware of that fact.
