Compared to the past trans people have way more rights and options right now. Gay marriage is also becoming legal in more countries.

And even if the media tries to push that crime is on the rise… it’s the opposite, actual crime statistics are going down year after year.

Right wing crazies/conservatives are a big problem of course (though more so in the US).

If you want to be negative about the future you only have to look at the climate crisis though. Things are going to get fucked in 10-20 years.

  • That’s not the reason, you have been able to do so for a while. Even longer if you count Breath of the Wild (which ran with the Wii U emulator). The only reason they got their shit kicked in by Nintendo is greed. Patreon + extra money for early access + wanting to create their own paid copy of Nintendo’s online service + timing their press releases with Nintendo releases…

Emulators are legal. Fully intending to profit from creating a competing product isn’t. That’s why they also gave in so quickly when the lawyers showed up, despite having plenty of money to afford defense.

It’s totally fine to upgrade from Windows 10 to 11, it’s basically the same thing. Overall it’s better in some regards (like better HDR support, direct storage is coming and so on) and a bit worse in others (I do hate the new right click menu). No ads though and barely any difference to Windows 10 as far as I noticed in over a year of using it.

Windows 10 already had all that stuff, telemetry, a link to Candy Crush in the start menu, it’s the same shit. Windows 11 didn’t get worse in that regard at all.

So just do a fresh installation of Windows 11 (don’t upgrade Windows versions, it’s a mess in the background) and have fun.

The “cartridge days” is a very loose term. Nintendo 64 used cartridges and came out in 1996.

And lol, “there were no PCs”, Atari came out in 1977. PCs have been around a lot longer than cartridge game consoles (NES was 1985). The internet also went live around 1983, so even that happened before the NES. Though public domain only happened in 1993.
