Yup. Get injured easier, and takes longer to heal. I got a Covid-ish (never tested positive) respiratory infection back in Oct, have had breathing/coughing issues ever since, this led to blood pressure issues, leading to issues in my eyes and just overall quality of life issues. Now that I’m on a laundry list of daily meds I can finally live a somewhat normal life :P. I wish I took my grandfather’s advice and never got old.

I got laid off and within a few days our dishwasher died. Had to wait for months until I got a new job to pull the trigger on a new dishwasher, all the while our stove was threatening to die on us. All this after our furnace died on us within a year of buying the house just a few years earlier, and then our AC just died last summer (not the end of the world, but insult to injury).

Yeah, everyone knows you have to at least say it in a funny way while waving a stick around.

My wife’s childhood cat was really old when she finally came to live with us in one of our rental places we lived while I was still doing grad studies. We used to close the door bc it was the one room with semi functioning AC, and during the summer we could kind of keep the room a decent temp if we kept the door closed. Anyway, the poor kitty would scratch the door and meow to be let in, and would not stop until we did (she would of course wait until we had fallen asleep first). Anyway, eventually we figured fans and an open widow were easier than being kept awake all night, so the door stayed open. That’s when she started the fun new habit of 2am hairballs while sleeping between our heads…

Any echo chamber can produce illusory truth effect. Repeated exposure to misinformation can result in a person failing to identify it as a lie, and begin to register it as fact and the lie gets amplified.

They view the show as a documentary, not a comedy.

“Friendly and fun” = we force you to celebrate everyone’s birthdays, engagements, baby haverings, etc and so forth with cake and mandatory card signage and possibly gift/money givery.

“Learning and development” = you’ll be forced to participate in mind numbingly stupid seminars, self directed online courses, and/or online presentations.

“With opportunity to grow” = grow mold as you fester in the wretched job.

There is only but so much time that can be allocated to fun, sleep only serves to rob you of that precious time.
