Just say you’re fine with capitalism as long as lgbtq people are addressed in the way you want, it’s a lot faster and more intellectually honest.

First time reading the original statement, and this actually makes me less concerned. It isn’t secret knowledge that the capital has worked hard to reframe being left from wanting anti capitalist economic policies to mostly social issues without consequence such as inclusive language and skin color quotas. None of that addresses the real problem that is the capitalist system driving us all into servitude and the planet towards collapse.
This is also why the left is generally not considered attractive to the average voter. They don’t care about any of that social crap, they care about their own situation and how to improve that. And while inclusivity is important and a just cause it is entirely irrelevant in the grand scheme of things and not a valid agenda to run a political movement on.
The lives of every marginalized group of people will improve a hundred times more by toppling the system that keeps us all oppressed and unhappy, than by having the government use their preferred pronouns when letting them know they have to make do with less, again.
I read it as zitter, which also works for that putrid grease den.
Maybe you shouldn’t be able to buy an America sized bag of novelty plastic waste for 10 bucks.
I’ve actually been mulling similar thoughts when thinking about the next few years of the internet. With rampant ai generated bullshit and constant disinformation campaigns, current day social media is dead. The whole internet is dead and will likely split into geopolitical sphere centric regional internet with controlled interaction amongst each other, similar to the Chinese experience.
We can see it beginning to happen with the united states consolidating their sphere by pushing tiktok out, and the crumbling trust the people have in online information. From a European perspective, and the recent unwillingness to comply with EU misinformation laws by google for example, I expect the eventual formation of alternative services that do comply, and with the increasing wariness towards russian and chinese political interference through disinformation I also expect that some sort of real life verification will become required to prevent bots and foreign actors most effectively.
Def depends on where you go. As a german who has visited most European countries at least once, and a bunch of others as well, I found my preconceptions confirmed more often than not.
Or in a case where I went without any due to deliberately not looking up any information beforehand I was severely let down. Looking at you, Serbia.
By that logic nothing you said has any evidence linked behind it either, so, for all intents and purposes you haven’t called anyone out just made up shit yourself out of pettiness, and because you are oddly defensive about the topic. I didn’t personally attack you or anything so I’m not sure why you are so vehemently defensive about some random news tidbit in the first place.
I just shared what i read and saw in another lemmy post on the subject, and said from the beginning feel free to disregard because I don’t have the link. Either way, feel free to calm down, or go on another unneeded snarky comment spree, I won’t be seeing any of it, I find your passive aggressive style of communication very irritating.
I don’t know why you are so defensive about this and at this point i don’t really care, def not enough to make an account with china lol. I also specifically said they keep the westerners away from the Chinese feeds, not the reverse, so that proves nothing even if i did make one.
Hence the wording of keeping the westerners away from the local feeds, not necessarily vice versa. Though the whole point is that the interesting new mixing of cultures stops either way, sadly.
It is far fetched to you that China keeps up its internet segregation?
Each of their popular apps and services has a Chinese and a western version, specifically to ensure the government can maintain control over the domestic narrative.
I dont think even the most zealous tankies would contest that China routinely practices censorship to control the flow of information.
Source is some other lemmy post about the subject, it had some translated pictures as well. I don’t have a link at hand though so feel free to look around for it yourself or just disregard.
Old news, predictably China is already adjusting the algorithms to keep the foreign users away from the feeds of the locals. They don’t want westerners causing ripples in the water.
That’s Robert von Tables to you.
Only If it includes him losing all that current wealth as well.

An older german pop rap group named “Die fantastischen Vier”, often abbreviated to fanta 4.
People got depressed with the constant (us) politics barrage and jumped on a cat picture post, then started to post their own cats.
Also, cats are possibly the only thing on the Internet that rivals porn in popularity, so lots of upvotes and OC posts going around
Doesn’t that system make for incredibly obnoxious comment sections consisting only of people disagreeing and complaining + argumentative responders?
Normal comment sections are often bad enough already
